In Paris, for your home as well as your shop

Households

Your flat or house in Paris is never cut off from the rest of the building. The technician also looks at how the pest reaches you, and tells you what falls to you, your landlord or the co-owners.

Businesses

Shop, restaurant, office or apartment building in Paris: timing fits around your business and the photo report can be shown during a health inspection. For regular visits, a prevention contract is priced after a first visit.

Local ground: Paris

Beneath Paris, connecting cellars, cobbled courtyards and sewers let brown rats move from one building to the next without surfacing. Above ground, shared walls and common risers allow cockroaches and bed bugs to pass between neighbours.

In Paris, this context shapes the inspection: where to look for the first signs, which entry points to check first.

Signs to look for at home

  1. 01Brown insects that scatter as soon as the light goes on
  2. 02Tiny black specks, like ground pepper, in hinges and corners
  3. 03Brown egg cases under a centimetre long beneath furniture
  4. 04A stale, lingering smell in a closed cupboard

Recognise one of these signs? Note where you saw it: the technician will start there.

Cockroach removal: what the technician does

Areas and situations covered

  • German cockroach
  • Oriental cockroach
  • Kitchens, appliances and cupboards
  • Bathrooms and shared risers
  • Rubbish chutes, cellars and bin stores
  • Restaurants, bakeries and food trades

The German cockroach (Blattella germanica) is the species most often found in kitchens and bathrooms, in homes and restaurants alike. It seeks warmth and moisture: appliance motors, cupboard hinges, the space behind skirting, service ducts. In a block of flats it moves from one home to the next along the water risers.

Gel bait is applied in small dots in those harbourages; cockroaches that eat it then pass it on to others through contact and droppings. An insect growth regulator can complete the treatment where they breed. Because the egg case (ootheca) shields the eggs, a follow-up visit is planned once they have hatched.

Sentinel Protocol

Four stages, in this order, in Paris as everywhere else

The technician treats nothing before understanding the problem, and does not leave without sealing or flagging the entry points.

  1. Step 1

    Inspect

Monitoring traps and a check of motors, hinges, skirting and ducts to locate harbourages and gauge the extent.

  2. Step 2

    Treat

Gel bait in precise spots inside harbourages, a growth regulator in breeding areas, ducts treated if needed.

  3. Step 3

    Sanitise

Seals redone around pipes, duct openings proofed, advice on cleaning and storing food.

  4. Step 4

    Follow up

Follow-up visit as set out in the protocol after the egg cases hatch, fresh monitoring traps and a photo report.

Paris: your questions before booking

Do I need to be there during the visit in Paris?

+

Yes, you or someone you trust: the technician needs access to the rooms, cellar or premises concerned, and explains what they found before leaving.

Is the price different in Paris?

+

No, it is the same across Île-de-France: from €132 incl. VAT for a first visit, then adjusted for floor area and number of visits. You see the total before paying.

What do I get after the treatment?

+

The same day, a photo report by email: signs found in Paris, treatment applied, entry points sealed or still to seal, and advice to limit the risk of a return.

Where do cockroaches come from in a well-kept flat?

+

Most often from a neighbouring home, through shared ducts and water risers, or from a cardboard box, a second-hand appliance or a shopping bag. Cleanliness limits their food but does not stop them arriving.

Should the managing agent treat the whole stairwell?

+

When several flats are affected, treating one in isolation is not enough: cockroaches come back along the risers. We offer managing agents (syndics) and landlords a coordinated treatment by riser or by stairwell.
